Description:

I hand-sculpted this piece with patience and care. The koi, made in white porcelain, rises from a marbled stoneware base that I shaped to suggest the movement of water. Each scale was formed by hand, glazed individually, and later touched with 22k gold luster to catch the light in subtle ways.

The work was fired three times — bisque, glaze, and gold — a slow process that speaks of transformation and endurance. For me, the koi represents strength and renewal, a quiet reminder to keep moving even through still waters.

Every trace on its surface tells a story of touch, fire, and time — imperfect, but alive.
